Ariel Patton started dancing when she was three years old, and she grew up in the
program at Ankeny Dance and Performing Arts Academy. Ariel went through the teacher training program and began student and
assistant teaching in addition to earning a spot on the Star Dancers at ADAPAA. She enjoyed teaching and working with
younger students, and went on to earn a degree in education from the University of Northern Iowa, and also a Masters in Secondary
After graduating from UNI in 2012, Ariel spent the next two years as the school counselor at Gladbrook-Reinbeck High
School, before moving back here to Ankeny. We are happy that Ariel has brought her teaching and dance skills back to Ankeny
Dance and Performing Arts Academy, and she is excited to work with the young people here as well!
Ariel jumped at the chance to teach students here because after growing up in the Ankeny Dance program, she says she appreciates
the mission of the studio to not only train well-rounded dancers, but also well-rounded young people with strong character.
Ariel says that training and mindset helped shape her as an individual growing up and she is just as excited to share
that culture with a new generation of students here. We welcome back Ariel to our program, and we know your student will love
her dedication and abilities as an instructor!
