Hayley Blok

Substitute Instructor

Hayley Blok has been a part of Ankeny Dance & Performing Arts Academy since she was just a Little Star! Hayley first began dancing when she was just three years old as an Ankeny Dance student, and as her love of dance and performing grew, Hayley enjoyed sharing her knowledge and training with younger dancers as a student teacher at the academy. Not only does she impart her love of dance to her students but also her joy of performing on stage; Hayley has performed in nearly a dozen different productions in high school and for the Ankeny Community Theater and also excelled in numerous speech competitions. Musical Theater Dance has always had a special place in her heart and she appreciates the opportunity to bring those skills and her passion for performance to her classes.

Hayley started student teaching for Ankeny Dance & Performing Arts Academy back in 2009. She continued to hone her teaching abilities, demonstrating dance techniques and inspiring other students as a student teacher. When she was in high school she was recognized for her abilities as an instructor and she was invited to join the assistant teacher level of the Ankeny Dance & Performing Arts Academy Teacher Training Program. Once again, Hayley excelled in the program and earned her Teaching Certificate from ADPAA.

Hayley graduated from Ankeny Centennial High School and is currently attending Iowa State University where she plans to earn a bachelor's degree with a major in elementary education. With her love of dance and teaching young people, she says instructing dance is an integral part of her life, and she is thrilled to be able to guide and teach the students in the studio she grew up in here at Ankeny Dance & Performing Arts Academy!
